Jessies Finding Our Way Home Poster
Jessies Finding Our Way Home Poster
In the days after Hurricane Ian, Fort Myers Beach looked very different. Landmarks were gone, street signs had disappeared, and familiar roads were hard to recognize.
So residents did what this community has always done—they helped each other.
Hand-painted wooden signs began appearing along the roads and intersections. Simple, heartfelt messages pointing the way to neighborhoods, streets, and homes helped neighbors, volunteers, and first responders navigate the island. These handmade markers became powerful symbols of resilience and hope—guiding people as they found their way back to the places they loved.
This beautiful poster captures those original signs exactly as they were painted in the days after the storm. What began as a practical solution quickly became an enduring reminder of the strength and spirit of Fort Myers Beach.
Printed in high quality and perfect for framing, this poster is both a piece of island history and a tribute to the community that refused to give up.
